SFC Edgar Vazquez
Enlisted Assignment
Manager / Recruiter, Defense Attaché System
First ...This program is only open to Active Army Soldiers.
Second ...When you join the
DAS, you are AT THE NEEDS OF THE ARMY/DAS. Just because you know Spanish,
doesn't mean you're going to Latin America. If DAS needs you in Moscow,
you're going to learn Russian and go to Moscow.
Australia, Canada, U.K,
Germany, France are kept for our DAS members that do the no-so glamorous
tours, i.e., Sudan, Chad, Pakistan, Afghanistan, as a reward. If you
are inquiring about the DAS to go to a specific country...WRONG ANSWER.
Third
...If you are originally from Cambodia (insert your
country here) and you are now a naturalized citizen, you will NEVER be stationed in or around Cambodia. There is just a
conflict of interest and DIA security would not approve of it.
Same goes if your spouse is a
naturalized citizen.
Fourth
...THIS JOB IS OPEN TO ALL MOSs. The Defense Attaché System is the best job no one knows about. The
selection rate however is only 26%....translation...DAS IS ONLY LOOKING
FOR THE BEST. Here are some things that can make you and your
packet standout above all the rest:
|
1) Qualifying DLAB score (85 or higher...the higher, the better)
2) TS/SCI clearance 3) No non-US family members
4) No single parent status
(Doesn't disqualify you, but
makes it harder for DAS to assign you...older kids are better than
younger kids as some Embassies have TDY responsibilities.) 5) No EFMP issues
(Doesn't disqualify you, but
makes it harder for me to assign you.)
6) Assignment as a
Recruiter, Drill Sergeant, First Sergeant. |
If you should have any more specific questions...feel free to contact me
at

Good Luck...I look forward to
getting/screening your packets. |
